CITY OF NOVA GRADIŠKA

PROJECT HOLDER

Nova Gradiška is situated in the south-western part of Eastern Croatia and it is the second largest city in the Brod-Posavina County. Its location places it next to the extraordinarily important road, the Zagreb – Slavonski Brod – Belgrade motorway, and the Zagreb – Vinkovci railroad; the state road toward Požega and Našice also passes through the city. According to the 2011 Croatian Bureau of Statistics population census, the City of Nova Gradiška has the population of 14,229, which is 8.97% of the total population of the Brod-Posavina County, or 0.33% of the total population of Croatia. The City of Nova Gradiška is the 4th city in Croatia according to the increase in employment for 2017. Overall, the economy of the Brod-Posavina County is based on the processing industry (metal, wood, and food processing), which represents the largest and the most important industrial sector according to revenue, exports, and employment

WHY THE CITY IS INVESTING INTO THE IPNG INFRASTRUCTURE

The mentioned project is another result of the efforts by the City of Nova Gradiška aimed at encouraging economic development and creating a positive entrepreneurial climate in the city. Through the implementation of this infrastructure construction project, the Industrial Park Nova Gradiška will become a fully equipped zone regarding infrastructure, with the full area of 1,260,000 m2 and it will have all the necessary prerequisites for opening new companies and encouraging their sustainable growth and competitiveness. With the additional 440,000 m2 of land granted to our zone last year, and with the existing and now almost fully occupied 820,000 m2, the Industrial Park Nova Gradiška will confirm its position as one of the most attractive industrial zones in eastern Croatia, which will contribute to regional development, as well as to the increase in employment in the City of Nova Gradiška and the wider surrounding area.

With its 18.43%, the Brod-Posavina County has been placed in group I, denoting areas with the development index value >50%. According to the 2011 population census, the city had the population of 14,229 on the surface area of 49.58 km2, which is 8.97% of the total population of the Brod-Posavina County, or 0.33% of the total population of Croatia. Of that number, 65.23% of the population is considered to be work-capable, and out of 9,281 work-capable individuals, 3,766 are employed, which is a low 40.58%. The population growth rate in the City of Nova Gradiška for 2015 was negative (-78), there were 120 live births and 198 deaths, while the vital index (live births per 100 deaths) was 60.6. According to the 2011 Croatian Bureau of Statistics data, the total number of daily migrants was 1,387, 69.14% of which were economic migrations.

The infrastructure is not intended for predetermined beneficiaries, it will be available to everyone, following the principles of non-discrimination and transparency; the land where it will be built is in full ownership by the City of Nova Gradiška.
